Some great names suggested here... not sure I can think of anything really original.

I love “Metropolitans” but it will forever be abbreviated “Mets.” Does anyone really want that?

In keeping with precedent set by the “Toronto Maple Leafs,” I think “Sockeyes,” and “Krakens” could work.

In our present climate of hyper-sensitivity, “Whalers” would start a riot.

I guess “Seattle Emeralds” or “Seattle Thunderbirds” would get my vote.

Not to mention an entire division has this name.

Red and black... how original. How many red teams does this league need?

We already have New Jersey, Ottawa, Chicago, Calgary and Carolina with red and black, making it the most overutilized color scheme in the league. Besides, red and black has absolutely NOTHING to do with Seattle or the Pacific Northwest! This is the LAST color scheme they should consider!!

Instead, they should go with green as their primary color with either blue or yellow trim. Especially since green is underultized. If not green, maybe blue and black consisting of a blue jersey and black pants, but no other colors.

For the love of God, NO RED, AND BLACK!!
