Steamboats were king way back when.
Not to mention an entire division has this name.
Emerald City (Somethings)
Seattle Silver Warriors
Seattle Hockey Club
Seattle Blackbirds (local bird that's actually called Red-winged Blackbird, which would fall right into the color scheme)
Seattle Bushtits (real bird, local to Seattle/Washington. And no I'm not serious but my infantile self wants to hear the announcers say "Bushtits hold off Rangers")
Emerald City Hockey Club
None of the Kraken and Sockeye nonsense.
Team name: Seattle Cattle
Arena name: Snapple Apple Arena
Team captain: Mason Appleton
Edit; seems like other people thought about Seattle Cattle, you're good people.
We already have New Jersey, Ottawa, Chicago, Calgary and Carolina with red and black, making it the most overutilized color scheme in the league. Besides, red and black has absolutely NOTHING to do with Seattle or the Pacific Northwest! This is the LAST color scheme they should consider!!
Instead, they should go with green as their primary color with either blue or yellow trim. Especially since green is underultized. If not green, maybe blue and black consisting of a blue jersey and black pants, but no other colors.
For the love of God, NO RED, AND BLACK!!
If they want a tie to Starbucks how about the Seattle Sirens , that's what the Starbucks logo is a Siren .

No pro league In their right mind is going to let anything related to Howard Schultz touch another pro team after the way he lost the NBA Sonics to Oklahoma City.
