If you could pick three FORMER NHL players in their prime for a shootout, who would they be?
Pavel Bure, Guy Lafluer, Wayne Gretzky.
Take out Lafleur and take in Bossy.
Golden Jet, Rocket, Mario
Shooters: Mario Lemieux, Pavel Bure, Pat Lafontaine
Goalie: Mike Richter
Lemieux, Bure, Bossy
Mario Lemieux, Pavel Bure, Brett Hull
Mario, Mike Bossy, Butch Goring. I'm not trying to be funny, Goring was a master at burying breakaways.
You weren't the only one who was thinking about Goring. I would go with Lemieux, Bure, and Goring......and if it went to the 4th and 5th shooters I would go with Dionne and Lafleur. (Also, Perreault had some pretty ridiculous moves one-on-one).
Lemieux, Bossy, Rocket Richard.
Lemieux, Bure, Bossy and Hasek.
Bobby Hull, Rocket, Boomer
Maurice "The Rocket never miss breakaway" Richard
Lemieux, Gretzky, Bure.
Mario Lemieux+ Rocket Richard+ Guy Lafleur+ Patrick Roy= any coach wet dream
My non-NHL list
I like the Morenz pick. I almost took him as my third after Rocket and Bobby Hull, but with the recent phenomenon of scoring on slapshots I had to go with Geoffrion.
Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr, Bobby Hull.
if you had to win the shootout to save your life and could pick any 3 guys and you don't have Lemieux on your list you're crazy, get off on Russian roulette or suicidal.
no-one in their right mind picking 3 guys from anyone who has played to be on your shoot-out roster would'nt pick Lemieux. Your other 2 picks can be open to debate,Lemieux should be automatic on everyones list.
Lafleur - don't think I ever see not score.
Lemieux - Scary good
