Sorry but this team is not enough offensively gifted to play an open game. If you want to win more than you lose, trap is the way to go.

I still think it's the players, Martin lost the dressing room and now MT, can anyone get this dressing room?

Yeah, we fire the coach, fans are happy. Players play better for awhile and then we start sucking again. Fans call for the coach's head, and on and on it goes.

so... is Therrien gone before/during the Olympics or will he get a vote of confidence til the end as we watch the Habs slip through the standings?

i'm praying for the former. this team can do so much better than these half-assed efforts where they look completely lost and leave Price to fend for himself.

MT is an idiot for sure.. but it doesn't matter who the coach is, this team is full of dead weight.

Need to make a lot of trades.

The team might suck regardless of who coaches. Nonetheless,'if' Therrien has lost the team, he has lost the team.

They had 3 practices this week and could not have looked more sloppy in their own end. It's not always about results, but it is about preparation and execution. When you consider that they've had more time this week to practice for these 2 games that were easy to get up for then usual, and add to the fact that their GA has been plummeting since Dec. 1, the writing is on the wall. They aren't the Oilers who have zero goaltending or defence, but are playing like it. This team has more than enough on the roster to not be bleeding goals against/shots/scoring chances. Time is up for MT.

The team is built with the smallest core of Top-9 forwards in recent memory as backbone. They just wear down and if they don't score, they're useless... And some just got recent thumbs up from Habs brass with interesting contracts...

Do you bite the hand that feeds you and end up like Ted Nolan? Do you try to do your best to make management look good?

If Therrien can somehow win with this low-scoring diminutive lineup, things should fix themselves. If they don't, players will bark.

Seriously done with MT. I hate saying this, but I hope the habs lose enough to ditch him, its better for the CH in the long term imo.

This is gold

Let me guess, media got their ratings.

Habs fans audience down 30% in the last 8 weeks.

Time to put pressure on the GM!

I know it sounds ridiculous but money speaks and people are just not into the Habs anymore because of their boring style of hockey 4 out of 5 games.

Also true.

Get rid of JJ Daigneault while they are at it. The blueline is playing just like his incapable self always did.

How isn't this team offensively gifted? We were tied for 3rd in scoring last season. This "system" has stifled the offense. They were better playing run and gun last season than this terribad system they play now.

And about to plummet like a rock. The goals against and putrid 5 on 5 scoring is the elephant in the room.

So yeah, I for one see this team for what it is. 3rd place is a charade at this point.

would you say it's safe to assume that Therrien is feeling the scrutiny of the mutiny?

...you have no idea what your talking about, Sens fan...we're a terrible team right now playing a terrible system for a terrible coach who can't do anything but continue to be a moron and do the same stupid crap over & over...Price & puck luck are the only reasons we're still in a playoff spot...

No, incompetent coaching is our beef. We're in the playoffs right now, but THerrien's system, bench management, preferential treatment and process leading to those results are seriously flawed.

The team is 3rd in the conference in spite of Therrien, he's been absolutely terrible in every way imaginable, and the team has been terrible as well despite the semipositive results. The process that leads to those results should have the habs in lottery contention, but we've been pretty damn lucky to this point.

4 wins in last 13
last 7 games habs scored 1 goal 4 times
29th in 5 on 5 scoring
Price ties record tonight for letting in 4 goals in consecutive games.

Play Trap down 3-1 or 4-1 ....

All not roses here.....the ship hit a ice burgh...FOR REAL

the 5 on 5 thing isn't all that surprising since Montreal has always been great on the power play & are a small team. Who knows maybe Therrien is the problem. But things could be a lot worse in Montreal. So what is the reason for Montreal's success. When they were winning is it because of the players, now they are losing & it's the coaches fault?

SAY no more,,,,HE IS THE PROBLEM PERIOD.

Back to back 47 win seasons in Pittsburgh, fired 52 games after going to Stanley cup!!why?

Same reason Habs players are done with him.

No, I legitimately don't understand the coach hatred in Montreal. It's similar to the spiel you hear from Leaf fans when they are on a losing streak calling for Carlyle's head

Both Carlyle and Therrien are useless. Both rely on goaltending. Both teams get outshot often. Both teams have major defensive lapses. Go figure.

It's not about the losses racking up this month and last. Not all of it, anyway.

-Since the last ten games + playoffs last season, this team has been on a downward spiral.
-10-game win streak earlier this year was a farce, as half the games were not convincing and the Habs were lucky to pull away with a victory.
-Forcing the grinding style on a team that doesn't have the size to do so.
-Absolutely no motivation and emotion during intermission and during the game.
-Multiple bad decisions line-wise, including:

-Playing Emelin on his wrong side, then scratching him.
-Breaking up Markov-Subban
-Scratching Diaz and Emelin over Murray and Bouillon.
-Benching young prospects that were just called up.
-Giving prime PP minutes to Bourque, Gionta and Desharnais while Eller rides the pine.
-Bouillon on the PP.
-Putting a newly-signed UFA on the wing when he has been vocal about preferring centre.
-When Galchenyuk was healthy, he was played 10-12 minutes a game, little-to-no PP time.
-The whole situation with Subban (benching him, neutering him, refusing to discuss his chances of making Team Canada then following it up with taking the credit for the reason why he made the team).
-Absolutely no reasoning to his actions during post-game scrums.

These are off the top of my head. I'm sure there are more.

Ahhhh, but you have to admit (or at least I think), outside of P.K. Subban & Phaneuf, neither team really has a stellar defense corps. So you think Therrien's system isn't defensive minded enough? Do you think maybe a Ken Hitchcock type of coach would be the difference maker in MOntreal?

The habs have a better D corps than the Leafs. Even if it doesn't look like it now. Therrien keeps switching guys around and playing people on their off side. He also likes to play defensive black holes like Murray and Bouillon.

Edit: A potato could do a better job then Therrien. Only problem is Bergevin wouldn't hire it because it doesn't fit the important criteria.
