And like often with Musk, it does not live up to the hype or is anything close to what he said it would be. At first it was supposed to be any vehicle that would go onto a buggy that would transport it from entry to exist. Now only electric cars that have to be modified so as to be able to reach those speeds and not lose control. Not very impressive so far.

This Musk guy is supposed to be a genius or something?

A one lane road under the city with no contingency plan for traffic accidents or vehicles breaking down. Lol.

Musk is a con man, simple as that. He's basically using a small bore subway tunnel to move 1 car at a time. Who knew that transporting fewer people with more resources would be considered newsworthy?

I feel like Elon needs to watch that one quote from Parks & Rec about never half assing two things, hole ass one thing. Forget the tunnels, we're going to Mars in 2030. Shift focus there.

I mean, it's not like he's the one actually doing all the work. Him spending time on The Boring Company or Telsa doesn't really affect SpaceX.

So that will cause just massive traffic jams for the single vehicle entrances and exits, and to avoid hat bottleneck it'd almost assuredly have to be priced extremely high.

In other words, just sounds like a way to let the rich avoid the unwashed masses.

The long term idea would be to have entrances located fairly frequently and AI controlling moving from those small entrances onto the main network. It's not a subway setup where you have one end point services tens of thousands of people, you could theoretically put one every few blocks.

Because you'd have AI controlling the movement of vehicles, you can merge and exit with significantly less disruption to the overall flow.
