I remember watching a TV concert from some outdoor German place, Rock Palatz or something and he shouted to the audience. " I have never seen so many drunk Germans before".

Probably Rockpalast comes to mind, seen many shows from there. Something similar to Dick Clark's bandstand. Must have been one of the first times being in Germany!:). Had a few visits during Oktoberfest and almost seemed like a an everyday occurrence:thumbu:

Cried as in a bad way? I've seen Mellencamp with his full band but never acoustic.

A bad way, bored to tears! The Cars earn top marks for the first time I walked out on a show though. Pathetic sound and sloppily played and my Christmas tree has a better light show than they had. Don't remember any of the band straying from their mark on the stage.:(

Mellancamp has the rep for being a dick sometimes. A friend of mine saw Mellencamp at the local casino and he flipped out on a woman in the crowd for having her phone out and taking pics. He stopped the show and singled her out. My friend said she ended up in tears and cried throughout the rest of the show. Mellancamp felt bad and brought her up on stage at one point but she was still in tears.
Disappointing to hear about The Cars show, was never a huge fan but I have a couple good albums from them in my collection.

So you been to the real Oktoberfest? So have I. We went to watch Bayern Munich play and I don't remember a single goal, then we went back to those giant beer tents. It was 1.5 Deutsche Marks for a liter of beer. I stole one of the glasses. Before it opened (at noon) there were horse drawn carts with ladies giving out samples, they came by a German MC cop on his BMW, they had green uniforms I believe, he drank a whole liter sitting on his MC.

Haha sounds about right. I’ve been to Munich 5 times and twice for Oktoberfest. Don’t remember much except we stole 2 of the 1L mugs. I dropped one piss drunk and it sliced open my leg. I still have the other one. Great memories, love Munich.

Possible there was no goal? :). That would be cool to see a match there. You guys get no attitude with the locals back then? We would get all sorts, going in on bike or moped was like going through check point charlie. We'd go to Aachen as it was so close by where we would stay on occasion. Used to pick up switchblades as they were much cheaper than in the NL. At one Oktoberfest the oompah band had the place rocking and a server all dressed up in lederhosen tripped and fell on me spilling all the beer, got soaked.

One of my friends started dancing on the giant table in one of the tents and fell head first and he looked like his face had been in Tour de France when they fall off and get their thighs scraped against the asphalt. We all laughed when the ambulance took him to the hospital. Next day we were walking in the zoo and my friend with his face approached the gorillas, the silverback came running agitated when he saw my friend and then he threw up a green mash while we laughed (semi drunk at the time). They have all the stuff like a Ferris Wheel and carousels etc. Great fun and superb bratwursts. I still have my stolen one as well.

Found my son on YT. This is from 2012 and this is the single they made winning the last band standing in Portland. They got 2,000 to split and recording a single and a B-side.

Seen a Max Webster show in a local strip bar many moons ago. :D Kim Mitchell was the lead singer/guitarist who eventually went solo. Mitchell achieved much more commercial success but seemed to lose an edge to his music, I always preferred the original band to his solo stuff.

Saw Mellencamp maybe 20 years ago, top 10 worst shows I’ve seen, totally full of himself. Rolling up his shirt sleeves to show off his ‘guns’ or lack thereof. No encore, no Hurt So Good and about 300 people on the stage with him made it sound more like a church choir than a rock show

I love her voice, and her dancing is pretty good too! ;)

Look at that Flying V guitar. :)
