Suzuki is a #1C on the Habs. He's not a #1C on most teams.

Danault I'd say he's a decent #2. Kokta is like low end #3.

You guys are a well rounded team but down the middle still needs some work.
I like Danault a lot. That's a winning player. Kotkaniemi isn't playing yet for a lot of teams.

Should the Habs trade Danault for Hoffman? Or could it be that there is more to playing hockey than point totals? The only time we've seen them on the same stage Pelletier has been the better player. I'm not saying Pelletier is unequivocally a better player. Just that you can make a better case for it than you can for Caufield being better than Broberg. Broberg is playing top pairing minutes for a professional team right now and is almost as good a prospect as Romanov.

Goodness me, it would take a Habs fan to have me sitting here defending Oilers prospects...

Dude are you honestly dumb or what? Pelletier and caufield are both bad defensively they are both small and both offensive first players. They are easy to compare that's why points matter.

Danault is a center who just finished top 5 in selke voting and will prob finish even higher this year is fantastic in face-offs and is a D first player. While Hoffman is a pp specialist playing as a winger and points are all he brings. Your comparison is so stupid it makes 0 sense.

Didn't know what to describe Kotka at this point and didn't want to pick an argument lol. Let's just say he's not trending that well

Well I can be kind of dumb, but if you think Pelletier is bad defensively I'm guessing you don't know a lot about him. He was used by team Canada as a shutdown player primarily. He won the Selke in the Q last year as well and was a +57.

The reason I compared Danault to Hoffman is because that's basically what reading the back of the hockey card between Pelletier and Caufield is.

Suzuki is going to end up this year PPG, and Kotkaniemi was already a low end #3 in hsi first season, do you think he basically hasn't progressed?

Suzuki and Kk are 21 and 20. Both of them are works in progress.

Hilarious how others are worried about our center depth even though the vast majority of Hab fans are not...

How on earth is KK who has been playing really well says a lot of insiders who watch the habs has been dominating in the face-off circle all season and been a great D presence and physical presence while having 2 points in 4 games while he could have had more at 20 is trending badly. Not picking a fight im just really curious how you came up with that.

42% is dominating in the faceoff circle? I'd hate to see bad in the faceoff circle.

Dude Selke in the Q is not for the best defensive forward its for the most sportsmanlike player lolllllllll. Pelletier is not good defensively so isnt Caufield. They both made progress compared to they first season but they're far far far away from the real Selke.

Shhhh...don't tell him that his winger is an offensive black hole....aka Armia

A lot of their "ass'essment" are pulled from the first three letters...

Basically every number there is says he regressed last season, never mind progressed. Happens to a lot of prospects.

KK took a huge step forward in the playins and is continuing his improved play. He is bigger, stronger and faster and starting to develop chemistry with his mates. His offense will continue to improve this season.

Again, if you think Pelletier is bad defensively you don't know the player. Every scouting report there is talks about what a good defensive player he is, but you must be right.

That's some crystal ball you got there.

Kotkaniemi was better in this first year and has regressed in his 2nd year. Players development aren't linear. He has to show more to be anything but a low end #3.

Exactly both are a work progress. Still a long way to be called a #1C on many teams.

He's played 30 games since coming back from injury last year. He regressed because he had to nurse three injuries in a row, coupled with sophomore seasons. He's been lights out since the play ins, thats 14 games now, 13 if you count in the AHL games in which he went PPG and looked really good. Kids good.

That's some crystal ball you got there.

Read above, injuries, thats what happened.
