I think thats what the blues offered and he rejected hence being traded
palatable number. kept it lower to get term i guess. soft market now
Lot of money and years for his role, no?
Terrible deal for a replacement level player
Can Blues fans comment on if he is a top 4 guy?
I would have expected this contract in a normal year, but seeing this contract handed out with the flat cap was a little surprising.
Lot to pay a 3rd pairing D but it could have been worse. Glad Edmundson got his money. He was a decent soldier in Carolina but isn't that much better than TVR who will make closer to $1 million.
Meh, not that bad. Similar money to what the Blues tried to sign him for before covid. I think he was wise to cash in early. Might be a few players missing chairs when teh music goes quiet.
That’s a really nice contract. Damn
i don't like the term. Hopefully Montreal is trading Chiarot next year.
Could have been worse. Dollar amount is fine, term is probably a bit longer than one would like. Ok signing.
Good for Edmundson though.
Weird signing when they have Chariot, unless he’s being traded
Knew this was coming when the Habs traded for him and the cap and term isn't back breaking, but I'm not sure what Edmundson brings to that line up. They would have been just as fine trotting out Kulak, Mete, and Romanov at LHD next year or spending a little more on a good top 4 LHD. He's just not all that good.
Habs are building a very good D. Great trade and signing by MB.
This is awful. Absolutely awful.
are you trying to feel better about your cap situation?
Welcome to Bergevin era , another depth d-man with awful terms
Awful. There’s no way to spin it.
No, I think MTL is incredibly underrated. This is just a stupid signing.
I get why they targeted Edmundson’s skillset but this contract is an overpay.
Le Habs upgraded to contender status.
