Price is having a rough stretch, but he was very good no longer then 6 months ago in the playoffs.
He hasn't fallen off a cliff physically yet. Even if he'll most likely never play up to his contract, chances are he'll be worth atleast 5-6M/year as an average starter.
Skinner is a much worse contract IMO. Price at his best is on a different planet then Skinner at his best, past, present and future.

Easiest pass ever.

Price is having a bad start to the season, but hes gonna turn it around at some point. Hes still an elite goaltender.

Skinner is just awful and its unlikely to change.

*Skinner is a good player, and he's been playing good hockey, but he's not likely to be much more productive than he is now under Krueger.

Also, Price was trending in the wrong direction well before this season started.
