Anaheim acquired Kesler to play a specific role and still very much need him for that. This deal doesn't work for either side.

Why would Kelser even want to think about going to Montreal? He has it made in Anaheim. Not a happening.

MTL wouldn't trade their captain who's potted 30+ goals in the last 5 seasons, whereas ANA won't deal their 2C who has been playing some of the best hockey in his career to date.

No chance Anahiem would touch that. Their center depth is a big part of their success. Not many teams are going to move a good center for a winger.

I'm pretty sure that it was already widely known, That Kesler only wanted to play in the US at the time he was dealt from Vancouver to Anaheim pretty sure it was made known that he didn't have any desire to play in Canada any more.
