Some dudes at work were telling me I need to check out some Canadian shows, so I have been giving this show Schitt's Creek a shot. Has the mom from Home Alone and the Dad from American Pie. Funnier than I thought it'd be.

It's on Netflix.
I can trust your recommend better than I can trust netflix. I still have not watched arrested development new season.

'is this some sort of magic trick?'
'tricks are what whores do for money, this is an illusion'
Show had me in the first 5 minutes 15 years ago.

The prequels are better than the latest ones released.

Yeah, I'm 100% with you on that. The prequels have bad acting, bad dialogue and poorly constructed scenes, but at least the setting, conceptual stuff and overall plotting is very good.

Force Awakens is a whole lot of "hey, it would be cool if we did this, it would remind people of this thing from a different, better movie" and the Last Jedi is pure boring arbitrarity.

Rogue One's not much for story, either, but it knocked it out of the park with setting and visuals. Solo was an okay popcorn flick, though I'd have preferred that they cast that kid that looks and sounds exactly like Harrison Ford, instead of some dude who's 4 foot 2 and looks it.

Schitt’s creek is hysterical...Canadian comedy icons in that one...O’Hara is very very good...highly recommend it

I liked Solo but that droid stuff was just a full blown cringe fest. It made Jar Jar look good by comparison.

Anyone a fan of Zahler? Dragged Across Concrete is just as good as 'BiCB99' and 'Bone Tomahawk'

Highly recommend all 3

Love Death + Robots is actually pretty fantastic.

Kind of porno-like for some, a lot of boobs and dongs, but there are some good stories throughout a lot of them. Three Robots is hilarious.

When the yogurt took over was kind of interesting.
Beyond the aquila rift would make a good sci-fi show.
Good Hunting was very asian porny, but I liked the whole steam engine robot stuff, mostly the technical drawing bits I guess.
Shape-Shifters was intriguing, the setting was curious but well done story wise.
Lucky 13 was sad.
Ice Age was meh

@Honour Over Glory

Hey was it you I was talking too who loved Zahlers' movies?
The vitamins?

Edit: Oh you meant Dragged Across Concrete. I was actually going to check that movie out, has Vaughn and Gibson, heard it's a decent flick.

I wasn't the one that said it, but I am a fan of his movies, he's put out 2 solid movies so far and pending this one, could be a hattrick.

Triple Frontier was a let down, started with a lot of steam and then the second half was kind of just flaccid for any of the rest of the momentum it had built up. A waste of a very good cast too.

The Highwaymen looks pretty good though.

Love Death + Robots is like a series pitch over and over. Some could be an hour long / movie type event, others could be series like you said.

Whatever sick mind came up with that show is going to make a lot of money if he has the rights to all those ip's.

add:
About Dragged Across Concrete it is a slow cooking piece. I enjoyed it, but honestly it could be cut down by 20 minutes minimum (it's like 2 and a half hours), but Zahler has final cut and that can some times ruin films or make them great - when director has final cut. I'm glad I got to see him build up the tension / story / characters, but some of it was just unnecessary. Good picture, but I'd put it below 99 and... yeah... and below Bone Tomahawk as well. But it's definitely enjoyable.

More than half could be a full feature movie or even a tv show. It's fantastic.

Hell, I would watch the f*** out of Three Robots as a animated tv show.

Oddly enough, the guy that did the first Deadpool (Director), is the creator of it. He's done some interesting stuff in his career, it could be his sounding board for "I wonder if any of the weird shit I am into, might be worthwhile as a movie or show?"

It is good. I watched it the first night it came out - last week I think - and I said I would watch a few a day to have it to look forward too. I watched all 3 hours or whatever length it was in one sitting.

I want to see Aquila Rift, that is the Starship Troopers rip off? I liked that one and wanted to see life past the robots.
Too many of them ended incomplete. Not like twilight zone or black mirror style endings, just straight incomplete.

add:
Or maybe not with aquila rift. I mean there could be more after the defeat and there could obviously be a ton of story prequel to this episode.
I mean the end was not to promising. So it can be conclusive if you look at it towards the inevitability of that last scene.

It was snippets of a story to provoke thought. Like the yogurt one, it was stupid but it was 5mins and fast paced so you really had no time to think but just react to the notion that, what if something became sentient (for the f*** it, funny shit).

Aquila Rift was interesting, the whole alien starving them/feeding off of them vibe and also the anime/steampunk one was interesting.

Yeah. I liked the yogurt one because it was the voice of brain, from pinky and the brain, so if you watched animaniacs / born in that era/ it made it even more ironic / funny.

Three robots was funny and good, 'Say terabyte', is f***ing hilarious. I just didn't like they could research anything so fast and didn't figure out cats didn't go boom. *OR DID THE CATS SPLODE???* I donno. lol

'Say terabyte!'

I have been sticking with The Walking Dead mostly just to see it through and because I was a fan of the comics. It's been dragging for a while.

But holy shit, tonight's episode....

I really don't know how I feel about the Highwaymen. I'll probably see it, because I still have to wait a few weeks for the new Criterion Channel app to officially debut, but then it's nothing but Down By Law and Dead Man for a solid month, I tell you what.

Watched Dragged Across Concrete and it whips ass. Same director that did Bone Tomahawk which was good. Kind of neo-noir police slash crime drama that has almost a GTA vibe to it. 9/10.

This is Spinal Tap. Pretty amusing. Probably something that would have been a lot better taken in during the mid-80s

Zahler is a script genius. But I felt it could have benefited from some editing.

IE:
More on the criminal at large. It gave us the black / white criminal aspect, but failed on the main plot of the criminal mastermind - who was a russian for some reason.
