I'll say that Lehtonen of the Thrashers is the most valuable prospect.

I think "most valuable" relates to value to the parent club and given the piss poor goaltending (and the value of great goaltending): Lehtonen is more valuable to the Thrashers than any other prospect to any other club. :dunno:

Staal is extremely important to the Canes, as nobody on that team can score.

Drafted: Fleury - Who is more important to their franchise than this guy? The future rests on his shoulders.

Undrafted: Ovechkin - If the Pens win the lottery, he's in a dead heat with Fleury. Could anybody be more important to their respective teams than a duo of Fleury and Ovechkin?

Fluery isnt just as valuable to the Pens for the same reason? The Thrash's goaltending at the NHL level is MUCH better than the Penguins.

Lehtonen is valuable, no doubt. But no more so (even less IMO) than Maffy is to the Pens.

Because Pittsburgh lacks a few players that Atlanta has, I will go with Fleury. He's basically THE one hope for the future for the Penguins.

Hopefully, AO will share that joy with him soon.

I will also go with Fleury, i dont think he is the best prospect out there but he is definetley the most valuable to the penguins. Just think the next best player on the team when Lemieux retires is Morozov. The Pens need the services of Fleury, they're franchise will just crumble without him when Lemieux is gone that is

The next best player is not Morozov. Tarnstrom is far and away better and Alex has been surpased by Malone, Orpik, Koltsov and even Kostopoulis,Surovy and Kraft. I'd say he is around the 8th or 9th best on the Pens....but 5-9 are interchangable.

For the Flames = Dion Phaneuf

If this kid is any where near what he is showing then he will be a dominate player for the Flames blueline.

While the kid may be a good defencemen for the Flames, he's NO WHERE near the value of Iginla. WHile not a prospect, he's the future to Calgary, and Phaneuf will never have the impact on the club Iginla has.

    O'Sullivan over-hyped?

I don't even think he's been "hyped" yet, how can he be "over-hyped"?

And here's a nice little stat, in case anyone's interested.......

    Canadian Hockey League
    1. Sydney Crosby, Games played (53), goals scored (50) = goals per game (.943)
    2. Patrick O'Sullivan, Games played (44), goals scored (40) = goals per game (.910)

....No one else is even close.......

I'd say that MA Fleury is the most coveted prospect by a team today.

The Penguins have absolutely atrocious NHL goaltending, and his ability to step in next year, as a 20 year old, probably on a full time basis as the starter, and seems like he's going to be able to perform very well at his age.

He is the franchise of this team, and i don't think it matters if they get both Ovechkin and Crosby. If the Penguins are ever going to win, I think it'll be on the back of Fleury.
