As the title suggests, what 2014 prospects seem to be the most NHL ready? Aaron Ekblad comes to mind for me...

    Definitely Reinhart, Ekblad and Draisaitl.

It's not a very NHL ready draft, a lot of these kids are projects. I wouldn't be surprised if it was only Ekblad & Reinhart + maybe a kid who gets drafted to a team that rushes them (aka if Buffalo doesn't get Ekblad or Reinhart ;) )

I'd agree. A lot of project players. Most of these guys won't even be ready in two years.

Nick Ritchie is up there. Already 6'3'' 235lbs.

A guy like Bennett could probably start in some team's bottom 6 next year too.

I don't see any chance that Bennett is in the NHL next year.

Right, I'd agree Ritchie is probably NHL ready by next year. Guys like Bennett and Dal Colle could probably make the NHL next year depending on where they are drafted but I think they would probably benefit more playing another season in junior.

I forgot about Nick Ritchie. He's one of those 95 born players that have had an extra year in junior. He's a big boy, physically he could definitely play next season.

I'd like to know how NHL ready HFboarders think Dal Colle, Bennet and Draisaitl are?

Dal Colle still has some filling out to do. I'd like to see what he can do next year without Laughton on his team.

Maybe just me but I don't predict Sam to play next year.

This goes back to my original statement, from what I've seen, Ekblad seems like the only player that is a "given" to be in the NHL next year. He's ready physically and doesn't really benefit from another season in the OHL.

Reinhart, Draisatl, Dal Colle, Bennett, they're not nearly as physically ready as a top pick should be, and they're not blowing away the competition like Nugent-Hopkins was in his draft year.

This. I'd say the latter two are a little closer to NHL ready, but I haven't followed this draft class a whole lot yet.

Not sure I totally agree with Dal Colle. He continues to get stronger and better as the year goes on. He is currently on a 100+ point scoring pace in his sophomore year. In addition, has now climbed to #3 on the 2014 draft list. Personally, I think Da Colle will be the gem in the 2014 draft. In his rookie year he played the corners/boards like a veteran junior. Very strong with the puck and as a 16 year old he was not one bit out of place physically. His offensive abilities pretty much speaks for its self. Lastly, I won't be surprised to see him crack the line-up for the Canadian Jr. team this year.

Ekblad, Reinhart, Ritchie. Bennett, Dal Colle are very close.

With Drailitl's skating as it is, I think he's far from NHL-ready. That being said, there's not a ton holding him back.

Reinhart is on pretty much the same pace as RNH, and Dal Colle is outpacing him. I think that Nylander is probably a bit too small and still has holes in his game, but he looks like he could be the best offensive player of the draft.

Jake Virtanen may succeed quicker than most think.

Is Ritchie fat or built? If he's that heavy from muscle then going to the NHL would be better for his game as he no longer needs time to fill out. If it's fat then I would send him back to lose some of that.
