What's your problem with Reto Berra?

His defense is terrible in front of him, and the Swiss are taking a lot of penalties, puting more pressure on Berra to stem the tide on the penalty kill.

Berra's seeing an average of 30 shots against per game, and to keep his GAA under 4.00 while having to face, consecutively, Russia, Finland, and the Czechs -- all of whom have far superior junior programs to Switzerland -- is noteworthy.

Is Berra the best goalie in the tournament? Not by a long shot. But to dismiss him as a prospect is short-sighted. Berra's just as likely to be an AHL player next year as any of Price, Pavelec, or Rask -- and more likely to be one than Varlamov, thanks to the lack of a transfer agreement -- and they all start with a clean slate there.
