I play 3x / week and most of that is actual games. One of the groups I play with starts off with a 30 minute un-organized warm-up where each player does whatever he wants.
I try to be disciplined about doing exercises to improve my abilities but a lot of the time I end up just taking shots, because that's more fun.
I'm thinking I should develop a routine, like at the gym, to use that time more productively.
Does anyone have suggestions for which exercises will yield the highest return on effort... sort of the squat/deadlift/bench combo for hockey practice?
