May 3, 1913 – Referee Buddy Bishop, raising the arm of Ray Campbell, who just won on points against Dick Hyland in a bloody battle

The report from the newspaper “The Call” of San Francisco: ”Ray Campbell, formerly of San Francisco, and a boxer who has established quite a reputation over the short distance route in the northwest during the last few months, came to the front in leaps and bounds today at Steveston, when he cleverly and clearly outpointed the famous “Fighting Dick” Hyland, a former world’s title aspirant in the lightweight ranks, in a 15 rounds bout, which proved to be one of the best ever witnessed around Vancouver. A left jab with a right cross that landed more often that it missed, won the bout for Campbell.”

Unique 1947-48 Montreal Canadiens team photo. All with headwear from Henri-Henri.View attachment 168601
I read this on the Henri-Henri website:

abouthenrihenri.jpg

henri-henri.jpg
IIn 1932, Henri Henri was founded as a family business by Mr. Honorius Henri and Mr. Jean-Maurice Lefebvre. Since its foundation Henri Henri has specialized in hats for men. Today we also carry hats for women and teenagers. Our vast selection of superior quality hats and our professional service has made us one of the most renowned hat stores in Canada.

Between 1950 and 1970 when there were six NHL teams, Henri Henri rewarded players who had scored three goals or more in one game at the Montreal Forum with a free hat, which brought the “Hat Trick” expression into the world of hockey. The list of winners includes the legendary players such as Stan Mikita and Bobby Hull from Chicago Black Hawks, Maurice Richard and Elmer Lack from Montreal Canadiens, Norm Ulman from Detroit Red Wings, and many others.

I believe it was manufactured by Dominion Hockey Stick Co. out of New Hamburg, Ontario.
A company that had been in business since at least 1933.

Gary Kurt and his teammate Wayne Rivers used the Dominion sticks while playing for the Raiders.
Rivers was born not far from New Hamburg so maybe he knew someone at the stick factory.

December 15, 1925 – The first ever home game for the New York Americans in front of a record crowd. Canadiens and Amerks players stand amid bandsmen during the opening ceremonies.
We see Howie Morenz standing attentively just back of the front flagman.

January 28, 1934 – This was Eddie Shore’s first game back from his 16 game suspension after his near fatal hit on Ace Bailey. Here we see New York’s Bun Cook scoring a goal on Tiny Thompson.
On the ice we also see a helmeted Nels Stewart and standing a helmeted Eddie Shore (who collected two assists in the game). BTW, all four are Hall of Famers

Shore after the game: “To tell the truth, I was a little bit worried about the reception I was going to get. New York hockey fans always greet me with a storm of good-natured booing and when I stepped out onto the Madison Garden ice, I expected to get the usual greeting. As soon as I came through the gate, the crowd went wild and it was several seconds before I realized the fans were cheering me. What a reception. What great sportsmen those New York hockey fans are. Why, they cheered me to the rafters every time I made a move, and how they yelled when Ching Johnson flattened me. I’ll never forget them. I’ve been around hockey a long time, but I’ve never heard the like of it.”

Okay - this thread is amazing. Eddie Shore missed a train to a game in Montreal and apparently went nuts trying to get their. Shows some pictures, but the story is more interesting IMO.
