Big Mac, Bonds, Clemens, Sosa, Palmiero, Manny Ramirez, Arod are all HOFers in my eyes. Pete Rose bet on baseball. Can't do that, enough said. Plus he lied about it for 15 years before changing his tune when he could make some money with a book.

It's not like his records (or the steroid guys for that matter) are ignored in the museum. The Big Red Machine and 1980 Phillies are well represented with Pete Rose memorabilia (and rightly so). They just don't get a plaque

It's cheating and totally in Rose's nature, but corking makes no difference from a performance standpoint.

Cherry picking and shoulda coulda woulda. If Rose had played 12 seasons, he wouldn't have got in the Hall just like Santana didn't with his 12 season career and 136 ERA+. Most 12 season position players don't get in. Beltran and Dawson have higher OPS+ than Rose. Slugger (.540 SLG%) Bagwell even has a higher OBP and OPS than singles hitter (.409 SLG%) Rose! Rose OPS+ = 79% of Bagwell's!
