Ridiculous joke of a proposal, and its not worth explaining why to the OP. (if this is even a serious thread.)

Your explanation makes no logical sense. The Devils are going to trade a 25 year old Taylor Hall for a 38 year old Andrei Markov? Really?

38 year old Markov who has 21 points in 31 games (.67 ppg) vs. Hall who has 31 points in 40 games (0.73 ppg). Not to mention the draft picks .

Because New Jersey is not making the playoffs this year so they should get some draft picks and they also need a solid PP QB .

hhaha not making the playoff so they should trade their young star winger for a 38 yr old defenseman as the main piece. Did you actually dilute yourself into thinking this was a good proposal?

He's on pace for like 61 points. Some star. He's been in decline for the last 3 seasons

Why would a team that is not making the playoffs this year acquiring an aging, expensive defenseman like Markov?

Hall is only 25, not 35, so he still fits in NJ's rebuilding plans. Why move him?

What's the guarantee that the 1st (should be a mid-to-low one) and 2 2nds will get NJ anything close to a player of Hall's caliber?

If Hall was traded today, don't you think they'll ask for a much better package than that?

THESE are the reasons NJ should NOT make this trade.

I can guarantee you Hall's "decline" in the next 3 years will be much less than Markov's decline in the next 3 years. NJ assumes all the risk here.

Could it be that Hall's decline may have something to do with the coaching staff in Edm?

Could it be that his decline may have something to do with his linemates in NJ which aren't offensive firepower forwards? Or maybe he's still learning how to play with them?
