Price (50%), Drouin, Petry, Romanov, 1st, Poehling

Draisaitl, Bouchard, Koskinen, Russell, Gagner, 2nd , 3rd

who adds and how much? Let’s take a journey. Main thing is Draisaitl to Habs

I'm guessing you're a big Habs fan? I don't know what's the worst part: this being the return for Draisaitl or thinking Edmonton needs to add their best prospect

I hope the Oilers fans are nice to you about it. Draisaitl is not going anywhere, and even if he where, it would be for a significantly better return that doesn't require Edmonton to give up their best prospect.

(And a 32 year old Price is not even remotely interesting in a Draisaitl trade).

EDIT: the more I look at this proposal the more blown away I am that this is your valuation of Draisaitl. Seriously, to pry him (24 years old, signed 5.5 more years at 8.5M) would cost you something like Domi, Kotkaniemi, Suzuki, picks, and EDM's bad contracts. This is almost as pointless as asking for McDavid. Want Draisaitl? Add your 3 most valuable assets as a start to the conversation, not a 2 aging players with salary. Edmonton needs young cheap talent and you think Price and Petry is part of the package for Draisaitl (+ Bouchard which is crazy)??

I don't want to be mean because it takes courage to post. If I can give helpful advice it's that you need to be more considerate of the other team. Why would Edmonton trade Draisaitl (and Bouchard)? What would they want and need? Does this make them better? What is a 24 year old top 10 NHL scorer worth?
    Cheers

    This is really really bad

Montreal could add Max Domi and another 1st I'd still say no

Price's contract, even at 50%, is an anchor

No way in hell are the Oilers giving up a 24 year old 50 goal scorer/100 pt player AND a blue chip D prospect and the best player coming back is DROUIN. Lol joke proposal, cmon man

Quality over quantity if you are taking both Drai and Bouchard.

    Add Suzuki instead of Drouin.

Throw in one or both Caufield/Domi.

As bad as this is for Edmonton, and make no mistake it is.

Is Montreal just choosing not to have a goalie?

Edmonton would be crazy to move Draisaitl now. Montreal would be crazy to decimate their roster and prospect pool for Draisaitl and Bouchard.

I bet you would and I would be ecstatic if you. did that as it would all but Kill any chance of Montreal catching Toronto.

But I suspect Montreal would prefer Price over Edmonton's goalies

This is insanely bad for MTL, we would never even come close to consider that

This is worse for Montreal than it is for Edmonton and by far...

I love Draisaitl but I can’t see Montreal giving up 6 premium assets, retaining 5.25M over another 6 years just to acquire him.

I mean, come, this isn’t serious, isn’t it?

This is bad for MTL, not for EDM. If Price currently disappoints, he'll still be a bargain @50%, add to that a 1st, two very good prospects (valued at more than a late first each), Petry who is a top 3/4 D in most NHL teams, Drouin a Top 6 forward.

Let us say Bouchard is somewhere close to Poehling in terms of value, a 2nd, a 3rd are just enough to dump Gagner Russel.

So it means that you value Draisatl to a top goalie on a good deal (50% of Price), a 50+ point forward, a top D man + 2 1sts ? Even if Draisatl is very good, that is way too much for anybody.

If Montreal trades Price to the Oilers ....first Price has to be playing elite level hockey....and it would be for picks and prospects...not a star player...Montreal would have to make the decision to rebuild.

Its a bad trade. But honestly outside of Draisaitl and Bouchard, there's nothing in that Edmonton package that's any good, and in fact would be bad for Montreal. As much as Edmonton fans scoff at this trade. Edmonton comes out ahead in it.

First, i'd say keep Bouchard and Romanov out of the deal. Oilers need Bouchard and they value him too high to make this a workable deal. And quite frankly, as a Habs fan, i think there are good odds Romanov ends being more valuable to Mtl than Bouchard would be.

Second, i assume the 2nd and 3rd coming from Edm are for taking Russell and Gagner as cap dumps?? Since Gagner is UFA at the end of the year and Russell still has another one after this season, i guess it is fair. So Russell and Gagner nullify 2nd and 3rd.

So if we take Romanov and Bouchard out of the deal, that left:

    Draisitl + Koskinen
    for
    Price at 5,25M$ + Drouin + Petry + 1st + Poehling.

That's too much coming from habs side. I think Habs keep their 1st or Oilers add Broberg.

Like any trade that would somehow involve Draisaitl going to the Habs, this makes us a much worse team now and going forward.

And Oilers still say no I'm sure.
