Does anyone have any interesting articles or book suggestions about the time Sam Pollock left the Habs in the late 70s? I'm trying to get more information about the transition to Grundman and Scotty Bowman's decision to leave to Buffalo.

There seems to be an interesting story there and I would love to know more. Something tabloidy would be cool.

Pollock obviously drafted and traded pretty brilliantly and it was all downhill after he left.

Well, it wasn't like they were bad after he left. Montreal was, I think, the second winningest team of the 80s.

It's just that there was nowhere to go but down!
