These wins in pre-season have gotten to his head. Can't say that I'm unhappy about this but I'm a tad disappointed by the lack of vision here.

As long as there is no clauses, this deal should actually make Byron an even more attractive piece, so there’s that.

Byron's certainly worth the $$$. Good deal for both sides.

I know we want them to get younger. But they're also looking to get faster. And truth be told, not many in the entire NHL is as fast as Byron, even at his age. So this is a great signing in my book. He's 29, so this will bring him to 33 years old.

But I feel this signature means that we'll hold off in trading him for at least one year, or two years logically. (Can't recall the last times a player was traded before his extension kicked in, or one year into it, esp for a blue collar guy like Byron)

If Bergy trades him after he signed him to a 4 year deal, he's even more of an asshole then I thought. After calling Radulov a dog and disrespecting Subban, Markov and Pacioretty, imagine how many players would want to be here if he trades a guy again just after signing a long term deal.

Once again Bergevin does not know anything about asset management....trade Byron get assets back then sign him......so he signs 31 year old Byron but will not sign the better player 31 year old Radulov.

We don't have alot of prospects coming on the LW positions so I'm fine with this signature.

If we’re in the cellar and losing I’m sure Byron wouldn’t mind being traded to a contender.
