Offensive skill is developed at every level.

That is true but extra skills aren't developed by playing in the AHL instead of the NHL. Confidence can be gained but sometimes that is false confidence as it may be based on success from tactics that don't work at the next level.

Skills are developed in practice and applied during games.

There is no one size fits all man. Some guys need AHL time, others don't.
By the way, confidence is built by sharpening your tools and applying them versus tougher opposition, ie development.
The kids going into the AHL for the first time, it's an introduction to their first full pro men's league.
Also, it will be the first time they play as much hockey (70+ games in a season).

All of this is part of development. But again, there isn't one way. Some kids need to slowly be brought in, others need more time and can use minor league work. If it was as general as you make it sound, nobody would put their prospects in those minor leagues.

I agree there isn't one way. Just the assertion that players didn't develop skills because they were brought up too soon is false. Players are going to be what they are going to be for the most part. The key in development is to get them there as soon as possible. Some require more time in junior or minor pro due to physical immaturity and/or the need to work on translating their skills to higher levels. Learning defensive acumen is also a common deficiency amongst young players that gets straightened out at lower levels.

When posters suggest that organizations ruin players they are plain wrong. The player just wasn't good enough to begin with. If their confidence is shattered it is because they were too weak to ever make it in the first place.

Development matters a great deal. Unless you're Crosby or some superstar type player, a coach can do a whole lot of damage.

I want him to fail just because Id rather the other Olofsson (Victor) succeeds, and since having two players with the same last name without being brothers triggers my autism.

This is why having someone like Bouchard in Laval is such a positive. We already saw this year what he was able to do with the players.

1- he helped change McCarron's game. He was having his best pro season before his season ending injury.

2- we saw what he did to Mete's game after working with him for two weeks. Mete came back to Montreal a more complete player.

3- the top prospects in Laval last year were Evans, Vejdemo, and Fleury. And all three got better as the year went on. And these aren't top tier prospects. So if he was able to help elevate the games of these kids, when he will be able to work with some natural talents, like first and second rounders, I think we will see the difference having the right coach in place makes.
