Leafs trade Nylander, CECI, Barrie, Petan, and Freddie Andersen to Calgary for

Elias Lindholm, Hamonic, Derek Ryan, David Rittich, Michal Frolik, and Rasmus Andersson.
Discussing trade hypotheticals can be a fun and interesting way to get more out of a long regular season. But why bother even proposing something like this when trades of this nature simply never happen and there is absolutely no reason why it would happen in this case? I'd much rather see another Tanev to Toronto thread than this...

Flames say no. The last time they made a 10+ player trade with the leafs it ended badly real badly. Memories are too fresh, its only been a bit less than 28 years since the trade. Maybe in after 40 years it might happen.

Nope, nice try though.

Rasmus Andersson would be an incredible get for TO, all for the price of a slight downgrade offensively from Nylander to Lindholm, but who would also immediately become your best two way defensive forward. Kills two birds with one stone.

I'm well aware of both players, as well as being a huge RA fan.

But this aint it chief, Nylander isnt going anywhere.

Ah so the Leafs will trade one of the best goalies in the league with one of the best cap friendly contracts in the league.... and get what exactly back in common? Not even another goalie? Have you SEEN Toronto's goaltending depth?!

Why do the Leafs do this? This bad for both teams.

... ?

David Rittich plays goalie. He has the same amount of wins as Andersen and (slightly) better SV% and GAA numbers. He makes just over half as much as Andersen for this year and next.

Is the Gap between Andersen and Rittich that big? Honestly...

Yes. Andersen has been the teams MVP the last 3 years. Without him we probably don't make the playoffs. Have I been happy with his playoffs? Not really.
Thing you have to consider is the Leafs play without the puck and team defence is horrid. Throw Rittich on the Leafs last 3 years and see what happens to his numbers.

Did Rittich change positions in the past 24 hours or something?
