Seriously though, that’s a huge package but you’re not getting a Mackinnon or McDavid so why offer something that big? No available center is worth that much.

If you’re looking for a young, established 1C stud I don’t think you’ll get it. Hanifin and a couple late 1sts isn’t enough to downgrade, IMO.

Maybe a veteran center, but is that something CGY would be open to?

Not sure why the Flames would piece together that package honestly. Maybe if New Jersey’s front office isn’t convinced on Hughes they would make that trade for the 1st overall. Still don’t see how that helps out Calgary whatsoever.

Also, not sure why NJD FO wouldn’t just love to have Hughes.

I can't bring myself to imagine Drai going to the Flames... but if they did something like this I think Edmonton would have to listen. That's a pretty big package.

Matters on where you're wanting to go with this trade, but I'd do something around Jost, Meloche, 4th overall and a top three protected 2020 first for Money, Hanifan and a small cap dump you can keep your two firsts. Not sure if Calgary would do that though.
