amazed with some of the nl pitching right now (yes i know it depends on who you play) in order of ERA

Hammel (cubs) 3-0 with 0.75 era
Ross (nats) 3-0 with 0.79 era
Arrieta (cubs) 5-0 with 1.00 era
Maeda (dodgers) 3-1 with 1.41 era
Gonzalez (nats) 1-1 with 1.42 era
Syndergaard (mets) 2-0 with 1.69 era
Velasquez (phillies) 3-1 with 1.78 era
Lester (cubs) 2-1 with 1.83 era
martinez (cards) 4-0 with 1.93 era
roark (nats) 2-2 with 2.03 era
strasburg (nats) 4-0 with 2.25 era

again yes, means nothing really right now, but looking like a fun competition for a little bit going forward

o.t.

think its kinda weird you have nats era's of 0.79, 1.42, 2.03 and 2.25 and then scherzer is chilling at a 4.35 era

Lawrie looks like that one friend who suddenly goes vegan and becomes a long distance cyclist at the same time. Big head little body.

How was that not interference in Tampa. What a garbage call by the ump

I don't think I've ever seen as blatant interference as that. Like I've never seen a more obvious clear interference call on the basepaths. How it was not called I don't know.

Pillar turned to run back to first and ran right into the pitcher in his way as if the pitcher was trying to run a pick or something.

looking at that GIF now, I can see how maybe Pillar maybe tried to initiate contact a little once he saw the pitcher was there instead of turning like he normally would. But even then the pitcher would have impeded him so it's still interference, just not as blatantly obvious, and I can sort of see what the ump was maybe thinking.

What a stupid way to potentially lose the game...Reds attempt to steal 2nd with runners on the corners and 2 outs in the 8th and it gets snuffed out, easy throw home beats the runner comfortably and Chris Stewart just ****ing drops the ball on the tag, allowing the Reds to take the 4-3 lead right after the Bucs came back to tie it.

edit: Bucs tie it up again in the bottom of the 8th as McCutchen just barely beats the perfect throw home from Duvall.

...and Hurdle brings out the worst pitcher in the pen to pitch the 9th and Caminero promptly puts the Reds back in front. Damn it, Clint.

edit: And a third consecutive comeback, this time on a Jaso homer with 2 outs in the 9th. We've got extras.

Bryce Harper goes without a hit vs the cardinals and the nats sweep the cardinals easily. Baseball sometimes is weird
