Green was such a weapon for us last season. Wtf went wrong?

Eh, he was a weapon in 2017. He wasn't AS good last season, something was slightly off, but still a good reliever enough in 2018.

This year? He's bombed literally every appearance. I think the league has caught onto his stuff.

Simple....and it is related to the reason he failed as a starter. The mediocrity and lack of control of his secondary pitches.

You can relay on your high spin rate 95mph fastball for only so long before teams catch wind. Then you through up spinners in the zone to adjust but they get crushed.

Green had his moments of shakiness last season too.

His control is just not consistent enough. Major leaguers can hit 95-97 if its not located properly. He also has been used quite a bit over the last 2+ seasons. Could also be that hitters have more defined reports on him.

Regardless, he is doing more harm than good right now.

Green is somewhere in between his dominant 2017 season and what’s going on right now. Hopefully he finds that middle ground at some point this season.

We really need Cano and Nimmo to get hot. Although both have been trending upwards.

McNeil - Alonso - Conforto - Ramos

has been tremendous.

If they can maybe get Cespedes back at full strength, that’ll be insane..

Brandon Nimmo
Jeff McNeil
Pete Alonso
Michael Conforto
Robinson Cano
Wilson Ramos
Yoenis Cespedes
Amed Rosario

Heading into September (MUST.STAY.HEALTHY.) would be deadly.

Happ is a disaster right now. Guy cant keep the ball in the park.

Gotta hope he can string this out for 6 innings tonight. The bullpen needs a break

8th inning. Gardner on 2nd, 2 strike count. Would be nice if Gleyber shortened up and punched the ball into the outfield instead of taking huge hacks

Why am I watching this?

Here comes Holder.

1-2-3 inning, including striking out Trout looking, as expected.

Urshela has been huge these past few weeks.

Holder strikes out starting pitcher Trevor Cahill in an American League Park to end it, also as expected.

I'm assuming they were out of positional players.
