So when looking at the Leafs opening night roster from this past season, who would Boeser have passed to start that night?

Hyman, Martin, Fehr, maybe even Brown.

I also said he *may* start on the Marlies, and be better than Johnsson at the end.

All I've learnt from this thread is Boeser isn't good enough to play on the leafs. He would get sheltered minutes on the Marlies. Gotcha!

And that would be incorrect. We may need to approach this from another angle.

Marner really showed his drive and fearlessness in the playoffs vs the Bruins to me. Best player on the Leafs very easily in that series. Gotta go with him.

Since some Canuck fans feel Boeser winning this poll against Marner means something, it was my attempt as a joke since we all know Boeser is not winning the Calder.

Take away Matthews and Laine from the 2017 Calder vote there is a very good chance Marner would have won it last year and been a finalist. He finished 5th in last years vote so it's not that far of a stretch to say that.

My point was Marner's rookie season was just as good and chances are he wins it any other year, however Matthews and Laine were a lot better.

I'm not the one mentioning how great it is that Boeser won a non scientific poll on HF against Marner. Generally when any Leafs player goes up against someone else in these polls the other player usually wins due to the Leafs hate on here.

very close poll nice when you get these threads. Two excellent young players I voted Marner but I understand both sides of this debate. Both teams fan bases should be thrilled with their prospects but that is rarely the way it goes in the zero sum game polls section of HFBoards.
