Although Mitch is probably leading the team in points and all of that, I'm a bit disappointed in his start so far.

It's probably just that Marner and AM34 don't click well together and there's no JT.

Hopefully he gets back on the horse soon.

The difference between what Mitch got (10.9) and what he should of gotten (9.25-9.5) is the difference between having a competent back up goalie vs hutch (domingue or mcbackup) and maybe keeping Hainsey vs. Forcing plugs like marincin gravel and holl into the third pair

tbh he doesn't quite look like a 9.25 - 9.5 player right now. But he's probably missing JT and Babcock doesn't realize that Marner doesn't click with AM34.

Marner will rack up a ton of points this year because he gets the most amount of touches on this team. The PP runs through him and every play has him touching the puck at some point. But the dude really does nothing at 5v5. His biggest contribution to the team this year is that he's a good PKer.

He can't even handle a pass right now.

But you have to take into account his juvenile and exuberant personality + he is indigenous to Toronto.

Marner’s just a point machine who feasts against soft opponents and thrives with primarily offensive teammates like the old Bozak JVR line and Tavares last year. He parlayed pure numbers into pure cash and looks awful trying to be an impact player by himself. That energetic kid persona is so annoying when he’s expected to lead this team. It’s laughable to think you have opponents like Crosby, Ovechkin, Doughty tough as nails competitors. And then this guy.

That pass from Matthews on the pp where Marner just pretty much handed it back to the Boston player in the slot has summed up this season for Mitch. He better get it going. If you want 10.9M you better play like a 10.9m player

But he's a native to Toronto that must count for something right

But HF told me he's basically a center and the heart & soul of the team, the only one of our stars willing to do what it takes to win.

Man is Marner lucky he's Canadian.

Hope Marner feels good about his deal now.

Ferris may have stunted this guy's career.

This thread is pretty juvenile to be honest. Do better, there are legit criticisms.

According to him and his camp, he's the best player on the team.

So I thought it would be good to have a discussion thread to discuss his performance.

On the bright side, he's probably leading the team in points. So there's lots to be happy about.

But there have been a few minor concerns as well, which will obviously get raised here. Nothing juvenile about it.

Once mitch or his dad started asking for Matthew's money I knew this was gonna be a problem and was hoping for a bridge deal...now were stuck with this beauty cap situation and very soft team

The nuclear option is dismantling the core.

What we have to realize is the correlation between Marner stats passing and the health of the Leafs franchise is not necessarily there. Especially when it was used to hold the team hostage in the summer. Marner scores a lot of points but it doesn’t mean the Leafs benefit from a dominant player shift to shift game to game.

Before we trade $$$$Marner$$$$, I think the coach has to go to determine if there is some problem with the system or maybe just $$$$Marner$$$$ being satisfied after picking up an exorbitant contract and half-assing it out there like his buddy Matthews.
