Schmaltz is a solid player. Don't expect another 50+ Point year, but he shows well in things like Zone Entries.

That's just a lot to give up and I'm not even a Strome fan.

Schmaltz is the best player in the deal at this point. He scored at a pretty high clip at 5v5 last year. He’s a top six caliber while Perlini is probably bottom six caliber with Strome being the wild card.

agreed. Essentially turned 1 50 point guy into 2 guys who could be that. Great way to create depth out of nothing.

I wonder if Chicago is hoping for the Strome/DeBrincat magic resumes.

Schmaltz isn't going to play with a Patrick Kane level winger in Arizona. You'd think Stepan and Galchenyuk fit ahead of him on the depth chart.

Decent depth move by the Coyotes, if anything. They're clearly not sold on Strome, who becomes the deal maker/breaker in this trade. If he hits, Chicago wins. If not, Arizona wins.
