Minnesota 2020-2021 Affiliates Thread (Iowa Wild, Allen Americans)

The Heartlanders dropped their 2021-22 schedule last week. I may road trip down there this upcoming season if I can swing it.

Looks like they'll drop right into the "Central" which is the division I'm most familiar with --- Toledo, Cincy, Fort Wayne (who just won this year), K-Zoo, Indy and Wheeling.

I'm interested to see what they do this season. Allen has done relatively well during the recent affiliation so I hope the Heartlanders can build an entertaining team. We may try for a trip down there this year.

Looks like the Iowa Wild and Rockford IceHogs are going to be doing an exhibition at the Heartlanders rink. I assume to get some buzz and give their gameday ops team a run through before the season starts.

They signed a player!

Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders, proud ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild and Iowa Wild, announced Wednesday defenseman Jake Linhart has signed an ECHL contract for the 2021-22 season, the first player to ever sign with the Heartlanders.

Linhart, a University of Wisconsin graduate, is preparing for his third ECHL season. He spent the 2018-20 with Adirondack and scored 53 points over two seasons, the most by a Thunder blueliner in that span.
