New Jersey gets: Brennan Mennell (rights),

Minnesota gets: Mason Jobst, AJ Greer, conditional NYI pick 3rd/4th in 2022/2023*, right to swap 2nd round draft picks with NJ in 2022, right to swap 6th round picks with NJ in 2023

*Conditions for the pick: Isles make SCF- 4th becomes 3rd in 2022 or 2023; New York has the option to decide on which of the 3rd round picks they transfer.

Who says yes? Who says no?

Menell provides the Wild a lot of flexibility that wouldn’t be traded for a package of conditionals. They need to keep him around if/when Dumba is traded.

I dont see the point in this

For NJ? The point would be you get a guy who can be an NHL level RD next season, who has put up some very impressive numbers in the AHL and now KHL, would be a PP QB/Specialist, and could potentially be a regular top 4 guy, at age 24, at the cost of moving back in the 2nd round in 2 years.

For the Wild? Yeah, no one else sees the point either.

Well, you might stop this poster from making Mennell trade proposals if you just agree to this imaginary one. I mean this offer is better than Christoph Bertschy’s signing rights and a very late pick.

That was from a while back but I guess I remember it because that’s when I learned the Devils had the signing rights to Bertschy. (Which they got in a Victor Lööv trade with the Wild at the 2017 TDL, the Devils had immediately flipped Lööv after getting him from Toronto for Sergei Kalinin. I love obscure trades.)
