Those are contradicting statements
No they are not.

Toews Makar
Girard Byram
Graves Johnson
Gilbert Timmins
Pateryn

At best he is tied with Gilbert. But due to his RHS he gets in ahead of Gilbert when Johnson is out. Hence 8 or 9 D.

Situational play. Pateryn has looked great on the PK and EJ is their only other good right handed PK’er. So while Pateryn Is 8th/9th on the Avs depth chart, he’ll still slot in and play heavy PK minutes when EJ goes down.

don't listen to this guy GMs, Pateryn is awesome and would be a steal to pick up off of waivers today

I don't mind if Pateryn doesn't get claimed. Not the worst 8/9th Dman to have, and he only costs $1,175,000 against the cap when on the taxi squad/AHL.

Mind, I'd be fine with him getting claimed too, and rolling with Gilbert as 7/8D, and having some extra capspace.

Cole played 20 mins a night first year and 18 mins second year as an av.

Our defense wasn’t good in 18-19. It started to get good in 19-20 with Girard getting another year of experience and Makar coming in for a full season. I believe Cole came in 6th in ATOI that year just a hair behind Zads. And that’s fine. That’s about where he should be.
