Why? On the return or the trade of Narvaez at all? Dipoto’s reasoning seems pretty plausible to me, in fact I’m happy Omar was the one traded now.

Omar has a good bat but his defense is not good. Murphy and Nola will do just fine. I don’t know what all the fancy stats say about their bats in comparison, but I doubt there’s a big drop off and the Mariners staff much preferred to pitch to Murphy. Mariners are basically killing time until Cal Raleigh is ready.

Probably won’t be long before Brewers fans are complaining about his defense and lack of ability to frame.
