But I thought Mr Cheepo will never go above 5M. And Hoffman wants to front load it like crazy.

Brayden Schenn 4 years, $5.125M AAV
Mike Hoffman 4 years, $5.187M AAV

Do they have the same agent?

Thought he was to be traded if not signed by the draft?

Very happy with this deal, we keep our goal scoring talent, and we are paying him under market value should he keep up his goal scoring.

Excellent deal. My biggest fear was Hoffman on a 1 year contract, with that being the central topic of discussion all year long.

We know what our core of forwards is moving forward for the next few years, and its a good feeling imo.

I don't care what anyone says, Dorion has been killing it in his short time as GM imo.

Lower cash first year is good for budget team without cap issues. Last 3 years he's paid more than his cap hit makes him tradeable to a rich team with cap issues. I see this as an "you have a year to show how you fit with the new coaches and if it doesnt work out we can trade you" deal

YES! Finally... the wait is over.

Reasonable deal. I was hoping for 5M AAV but close enough.
I definitely like the term; which makes the end of his contract 30-31 years old.

Clearly this is a sign and trade for some draft picks so the lazy inaccurate $$$ narrative can finally be supported :sarcasm:

A month ago I thought he was getting atleast 5.5mil. So, Im happy. This board would've been terrible if Hoffman was traded.
