At his age he's risking a TON of earning power by taking short deals. He has no incentive. He's going to look for the contract that give him the most years and money, and 1-2 year contract won't even be on his radar unless they are gross over payments.

Or unless nobody is willing to pay him.
The reason why he accepted the deal in Detroit was because he didn't get much interest.

If Detroit signs Green, it better be for less money than he's making.

I know he is from out west, but guys that have spent as much time in the Eastern Conference as Green aren't always willing to go to the West. Most actually don't prefer it. You have a lot more nights at home in the Eastern Conference and Green has a young family. You have a long summer to go back home as well.
