Love the respect Saskatoon is getting. They've played better than their record shows being in that stacked division. Nolan Maier is the real deal.

Maier is the James Porter of the Eastern Conference, albeit more of a highly touted prospect, but both rookie goalies are proving to be capable starters so far.

I've been questioning whether I should consider your assessment of the Winterhawks as an under-reaction to the current poor streak. After all, these are power rankings.

I'm seeing a team not committed to defense. It's one thing that there's a couple questionable defenders (not a Brandon DeJong fan, and hard to find one), but what I've noticed is that there are too many forwards not getting back in critical situations.

I'm really starting to also believe that the second hot streak was realized all too easily at the expense of the Central Division, which is just not that good a group.
