Great minds think alike :thumbu:

Though, your "what I want" has AK making the team, I don't. But, I can't say I would be upset if he did. I just thought he wasn't that good in the final couple months and the suspensions make me a little worried.

Yeah I don't think you can really argue with this. That bottom pair I don't care who is partnered with Myers as long as Myers is out there. Also wouldn't mind Voroboyov or Rubstov as 4C with Laughton on the wing (or vice versa).

I would like to try (without Frost):

25-28-93
21-14-11
54-19-17
12-Vex-NAK
40/20
(I know, G at center is very unlikely to happen, but I think that provides a lot of scoring balance).

or

28-14-11
25-19-93
54-21-17
12-Vex-NAK
40/20

With Frost:

28-14-11
25-19-93
54-Frost-17
12-21-NAK
40/20

Most likely to happen

28-14-11
25-19-93
54-21-17
12-15-NAK
40/22

Defense:

What I would want to start:
9-53
6-3
47-Myers
Folin/8

What I expect:

9-47
8-53
6-3
Folin

(The main reason I didn't post together is I haven't had time to actually decide the roster moves required, who would be waived, who would be traded, etc....so I guess it was a bit of a cop out).

I don't "want" anything, in the sense that say I want Frost only if he's ready, he's a tough decision that will be made in camp, some undersized players have successfully jumped after a year (TK, Marner, etc), others have spent two years in juniors without harm (Barzel, etc). Patrick was a no-brainer, he dominated junior at 17, has a man's body, and the only question was how long he'd need to get healthy. TK is stouter than Frost, even though he's short. Giroux took a while, hasn't held back his career. On the other hand, Frost would have a sheltered role as a 3C with talented wings (Lindblom, Simmonds), much easier transition than say Nico at 18.

I "want" Vorobyev, but again, if he needs seasoning given his lack of KHL PT, I can wait until January, this is a transition year, the team in April (say if Frost doesn't go deep into the CHL playoffs, he might go directly to the NHL playoffs, Vorobyev might be up, even Rubtsov and Hart depending on LHV's playoff run) could be quite different than the team in October.

I "want" Myers and expect him to win a job in camp.

Some others are tricky, I don't think Weal is a good fit at LW unless Vorobyev is the center, and he's not a RW
NAK has to win a job, he won't be handed one.
MV is a disappointment, Ron really like Bardreau two years ago, so he has a shot at the 4th line.

My expected October lineup:

Giroux - Couts - TK
JVR - Patrick - Voracek
Lindblom - Weal - Simmonds
Raffl - Laughton - NAK
Bardreau, Weise

Provorov - Ghost
Sanheim - Gudas
MacDonald - Myers
Folin, Hagg

Elliott, Neuvirth, Lyon (if they don't think he'll make it through waivers)

My expected April lineup:

Giroux - Couts - TK
Lindblom - Patrick - Voracek
JVR - Frost - Simmonds
Laughton - Vorobyev - Raffl
NAK, Bardreau

You play with better players on the 1st line, you also have more responsibility and play against better players.
It's a tough spot for a rookie center, Nico and Patrick are exceptional talents, Frost is good, but not in their weight class.

Right now we can say that, but you never know. Pastrnak was chosen 25th in 2014 and has a strong argument for being the top player from his class only 4 years later. I'm not saying Frost will be better than Patrick or Nico. I doubt he will. But, there is a lot of development still to be done on both Frost and Nico/Nolan's part.

Reading lineups set out like this makes me think how much I want to avoid JVR and Simmonds on the same line. That seems terribly constructed no matter who would be in the middle.

I just literally got giddy thinking about JVR and Patrick working down low with each other. Size, skill, and soft hands in tight. JVR has the perfect skillset to finish Nolan's elite close-quarters setups around the net.
