I know this is all about cloud platforms and streaming games that I’ll never be able to partake in because of my slower internet, but I wish this was more about keeping PlayStation and XBox as consoles, with only a push toward download delivery of games, and not cloud-hosted and streamed gaming. I’ll pay for the console every five years, I’ll pay for online, just let me own the right to my current gen (and up) games on the newest console iterations. I don’t want streaming only. The current model works for me.

I wouldn’t touch Google or Amazon platforms, anyway. No interest.

Makes sense in a way if they actually think Google's whatever platform is a contender. Team up, crush the competition, continue on.

People hoping for cross platform games are kidding themselves, Sony vs. Microsoft is a money making battle for them. Maybe not Microsoft this round, but it was last. They just don't want a 3rd party chipping away at the profits, and they already have the user base.
