Putting Brière on a defensive line makes no sense whatsoever.
But yeah, other than that, I suppose this is what the lines will look like when everybody's healthy AND when Parros won't play IF DD cannot produce somewhat at that point AND just play, like, a string of three decent games.

Think we need to give Briere a shot at C before we write him off especially if it gives Galchenyuk another year before we move him over and maybe Bourque finds his game back on RW

Don't think Murray & Diaz would be a safe pairing

Well, it's not like he's fulfilling the duties of a offensive player lately.

Bourque and Gionta are??

Plekanec had a great 3pt game in Anaheim. Before that Eller was our most productive forward.

No they aren't, but they're playing wing, and Plekanec is playing center.

I think this is bad (no offence).
Bournival is not ready for a defensive minded line.

Pac-Plex-Bourque
EGG
Bourni-DD/Brière-Gionta
4th liners

Bournival was captain and centered the shutdown line during the junior playoffs against London knights a few years ago.

Right, so why is Eller being moved for Galchenyuk? Gally is doing well on the wing and there's no rush to move him at center with Eller and Plekanec doing well. So what's the point?
If we had two centers outplaying Eller it would make sense, but we don't. Eller's been our best center thus far.

Gionta's not a top line player. Or a second line player.

and Briere's done. It's almost as if his contract was a low reward, risky, stupid move by an arrogant, overrated GM. Almost.

I'd be okay with giving Briere a shot at center and benching DD. Fact of the matter though is that DD has had at least a couple of games where he's been good and Briere I haven't noticed at all. I'd have Danny on a short leash and if he didn't produce swap him in the pressbox for DD. They can fight it out for playing time.

Markov has to stay with Subban. He gets exposed way too much otherwise and his offense makes Subban that much better. I really think they're good together and make each other better.

And based on what I've been looking at we have to put Max with Plecs so I agree with you there. Bourque misses 58 percent of his shots (meaning they don't hit the net at all) that's way too high. Play him on the 3rd with whoever but give Plecs a real shooter and keep Bournival there until Max comes back.

For the love of not making the playoffs............Plekanec should NEVER, EVER have Bourque as a winger. Never.

Bourque is kryptonite to Pleks.

Well, it's not like he's fulfilling the duties of a offensive player lately.

He's been better than the gally's and over the course of the year he has definitely been one of our best forwards, if not our best. You don't demote someone over 2 games.

82 games in a season...important to try as many lines to know who goes well with who (ex: in case of injuries ; to see all options...who clicks with who, etc). This way you can be better prepared for playoffs.

When healthy (no DD!):
Pacioretty - Eller - Gallagher
Bourque/Bournival - Plekanec - Galchenyuk/Gionta
Bournival/Bourque - Briere - Gionta/Galchenyuk/Leblanc
Moen - White - Prust/Leblanc/Parros

Without DD and Briere!:
Pacioretty-Eller-Gallagher
Bourque-Plekanec-Gionta/Leblanc
Galchenyuk-Bournival-Gionta/Leblanc
Moen-White-Blunden/Prust/Parros

Yes. Bournival is first and foremost a typical third line player. Never broke anything offensively in the Q. I am expecting him to play on wing or center on the third line as soon as MaxPac is back.

Not against these lines but having Galchenyuk in front of Eller isn't a good idea. If we put Chuckie with 2 defensive wingers, that could be a more balanced line-up.

Healthy fowards without Desharnais:

Pacioretty-Eller-Gallagher
Bournival-Pleckanec-Briere
Bourque-Galchenyuk-Gionta
Moen-Prust-Parros/White

I had a good chuckle when I saw Briere on what was deemed a 'defensive line'.
I don't think this team really has a defensive line. 3 scoring lines and the banging line. Gone are the days of Guy Carbonneau and Bryan Skrudland. Hell, that team used to have 3 checking lines...

I think Plekanec Gionta Bournival is the true defensive line, but not so much lately.

I think Prust-Bournival and Leblanc could become a good third line. but I do miss the McPhee-Skrudland-Lemieux line or the Gainey-Carbo-Nilan line.

Only logical lines (when healthy) :

Pacioretty - Plekanec - Gionta (Proven chemistry Pleks/Gio are having good seasons)
Galchenyuk - Eller - Gallagher (They are just always dangerous when paired up)
Bourque - Briere - Bournival
Prust - White - Moen

Subban - Gorges
Markov - Emelin
Diaz - Murray
Bouillon

DD / Healthy Scratch or trade.

I would trade both DD and Diaz for a good, sound, strong d-man
