I thought Prince was good in his time here. Don know why he was only given 2 games.

At the time of his recall they probably thought they were out of it and decided to give some guys a couple games each. However the winning streak happened and they didn't want to mess with it

And Peumpel has looked really good. Believe the plan was for Buddy Robinson to get a few games as well but that never happened.

With all the young guys, a vet like Michalek is really missed. An energized, hungry Smith would be the replacement if McArthur is't ready to go. I see Smith being good in Cameron's North-South hockey.

Coach said that MacArthur just started skating with the team and still isn't cleared for contact. Said there's still no timetable for his return.

If you ballpark a minimum 5-7 days before he gets the "contact allowed" clearance, and another 5 days to get up to speed and get his legs under him, then a good guestimate of when he'll be ready to be in the lineup would probably be April 3/4th.

If we get Mac back for anything more than the last 5 games of the year, that's a bonus (when considering where he's at right now).

Its a situation like this that really makes me glad that Murray did not sell at deadline. We need Those depth forwards more than ever !

He didn't sell because no one was buying. Can you imagine how many GMs are now kicking themselves that they weren't willing to send Ottawa a 4th rounder for either Gryba or Condra? Amazing how much things can change in a short time in this game...

The thing about players like this, every team thinks they have one of them already.
Gryba is too young to be considered a "veteran depth D-Man".
Condra is a winger, so aside from being "defensive" he doesn't bring much else to the table (like face-offs, etc).

You either need to be a specialist thats significantly better than your peers at that particular "playoff style" talent, or a "wily vet".

They're way more valuable to Ottawa than any other team, which is why we kept them both.
