Interesting, should be noted the Braves had traded for him before Christmas but designated him for assignment. Will be interesting if Gonzalez can prove the Braves wrong here

The Braves had no choice, he only waived his no trade clause upon promise of being designated and cut loose

Like I get Gonzalez might have a chip on his shoulder and feel a bit of spite towards the Dodgers but really what did he expect? LA could play their 21 year old star who was a 4+ WAR player, hit 39 HR and won rookie of the year while being a top 10 MVP candidate and is dirt cheap money wise or an injured, 35 year old, expensive, below replacement level player. Hmmm... decisions, decisions...

To be fair, Gonzalez probably would have been better than Bellinger in the WS. He was absolutely atrocious.

Sure, and so was Judge in the playoffs. As was Kris Bryant. Doesn't mean that the Yankees or Cubs would choose an aging severely declining, expensive player over either of them going forward.

As a Met fan this only annoys me because it’ll take them til July or August to release him vs May 30th when it’ll likely be evident he’s done. In the meantime, he will be wasting a roster spot from someone else who can probably be more useful. This has really been a noticeable issue with Mets management the last 5 years with over the hill bad signings. Chris Young, Michael Cuddyer, and John Mayberry were just a few of those guys they hung on to much too long when they should have cut ties

One of the most durable players ever. He's had a heck of a career. He could still be a productive bench player though. It's just his days as a starter are long gone.
