I'm constantly pissed at my sens for having a flat-footed powerplay (admittedly it's getting better now).

Some guys like Marner, Stutzle, Crosby, etc., seem to cover huge ground during a powerplay within the ozone. And some teams seem to have everybody in motion all the time on a powerplay.

Do any metrics exist for capturing these differences in strategy/style?

Like distance travelled or average ozone player speed of a team's powerplay?

I realize there'd be some nuance to the metric to avoid dump and chase type strategies from skewing results, for example.

I really just want to know which teams have the most fluid up-tempo powerplay styles (once they've established themselves in the ozone).

Oilers. McDavid really dances in the o-zone and they've learned how to utilize his generational skating not only in the zone entries but in the zone as well. The PP is full of rotations and switching positions etc

Don't think you'll get any public numbers on this.

You would need access to the chip data, located in jerseys for that data, which none of us has.
