Was hoping that the Otters and Tigers could make it in...oh well. You can't always get what you want...or at least Mr. Jimmy said so once long ago.

Here's hoping Bo knows what the other teams are and exposes them for what they really are.

If Portland wins their game 7, that will put another Canuck prospect in the Memorial Cup spotlight: Anton Cederholm (5th round pick last year).

Oddly enough, Cederholm's usual D-partner is Derrick Pouliot, the Pens prospect who was in that Kesler-to-Pittsburgh trade rumour a couple of months ago.

Cederholm scored the Winterhawks 2nd goal tonight, too. Hope Portland pulls it off so we can see Anton in the Mem Cup. (And because it's fun to watch Edmonton teams lose  ).

The Guelph Storm bring some ex-Canuck content in the form of owner/head coach Scott Walker:

Guelph Storm rolled through the #OHL & did it with a crop of players almost entirely drafted, developed by the club
http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/juni...m-a-model-for-how-to-build-team-on-draft-day/

And the team mirrors its owner/head coach:

"We didn't have anybody win major awards, everybody questioned our style, our goaltending, everything. But you know what? I've never seen a bunch of guys care more about each other. They could care less about personal stats," Walker said.

So psyched for this, although it hurts that so many of our prospects came close to getting in but didn't make it.

So third time lucky for Bo Horvat?

Bo Horvat hopes the third time’s a charm.

That’s the opportunity the Canucks’ ninth overall draft pick last year and his London Knights teammates have, beginning Friday at the Memorial Cup tournament.

The Knights were the OHL champions the two previous seasons, but couldn’t bring home the hardware that symbolizes the championship of the Canadian Hockey League’s three major junior hockey leagues.
...
“Third time is a charm,†Horvat said. “I think we’ve got all the tools to do it this year so hopefully we can make it happen.â€

SportsNet article examining what may face each of the four teams - MasterCard Memorial Cup: Burning questions.

The burning questions:

How will experience benefit the Edmonton Oil Kings?

Will talent alone be enough for the Guelph Storm?

Can the Knights recapture the glory from 2005?

Do the Foreurs have the secondary scoring to keep up?
