NHL -WHL fan since 1951 - Blues fan since 1967. - No NHL team in Winnipeg when I grew up. Hated Canadiens & Leafs. Visited family in Chicago every year, so became Hawk fan. Also, family friend (and ex-neighbour), Ab McDonald played for Hawks. Also liked Glenn Hall. When Hawks let Hall be drafted by Blues-started liking Blues. Then, in 1968, Ab McDonald was traded to Blues. Became Blues fan for life. Liked Jets, too (but, sadly, they are gone now). I've followed Blues their whole existence. Waiting for them to win The Stanley Cup. Hope it will be in next 3-4 years.

First Blues game-1967 Chicago Stadium
Blues' moment-Red Berenson's six goal game vs. Flyers in 1968-69
Favourite Blues: Barc Plager, Jacques Plante, Glenn Hall, Red Berenson, Bobby Plager, Garry Unger, Bernie Federko, Brian Sutter, Mike Liut, Rob Ramage, Joey Mullen, Brett Hull, Adam Oates, Brendan Shanahan, Scott Stevens, Al MacInnis, Chris Pronger - (honorary-Ab McDonald)

Current favourites: T.J. Oshie, Erik Johnson

Favourite non-Blues-Gordie Howe, Rocket Richard, Bobby Orr, Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita

How and when you became a Blues fan: 5 years old, watching the Blues/Blackhawks on TV, and I lost my first tooth slamming around the room pretending I was a Blues hockey player.
Favorite Blues Player: current? maybe Jaden Schwartz? I don't know I ever really have one.
Favorite Blues All-Time? Al MacInnis, Garry Unger
Favorite NON Blues Player: active? Sidney Crosby [I'd give my left nut to have his hockey talent for a day] or Alex Ovechkin [700+ goals? In this era? Ridiculous].
Favorite NON Blues Player - Retired? Ray Bourque, Bob Gainey
Your Definitive Blues Moments: the ones I personally attended that stand out to me - (1) The first game ever at Kiel Center. (2) 1993 playoffs, Game 3 vs. Chicago (3) The night Ottawa blitzed the Blues 7-1 in St. Louis [Ottawa was dreadful but Jacques Martin had recently taken over, and after a good ~2 minutes from us the rout was on].
First Blues Game Attended: late in the 1991 season, vs. NY Islanders - I think it was the night Hull scored his 86th and final goal of the season.
College Attended/Attending: SIU-Carbondale
Hobbies: Math and statistics. Formerly the author of the original NHL salary cap tracking website; everything everyone else has ever done descends from my work, whether they want to admit it or not.

Sex: M
Birthplace: Staunton, IL

Mode of Transportation: 2001 Chevy S-10
Job: Inventory Coordinator for contract logistics facility; "St. Louis Game Time" Prospect Department

How and when you became a Blues fan: 1967: I was 6, and happened to catch in the Globe-Democrat that there was an NHL team about to begin playing in St. Louis (yes, I was reading the newspaper regularly at age 6; I was something of a precocious child).

I remember hearing about Red Berenson's six-goal game a couple of years after that, and started to get really interested in the game then. Listening to Dan Kelly, Gus Kyle, and Noel Picard (in between checking out the Yardbirds, Doors, Beatles, Animals and Paul Revere and the Raiders on KXOK) also helped.

A couple of years later, my family moved to Denver, and the WHL Spurs were the Blues' farm team. Got to see Bob Gassoff, John Davidson, and others make their pro debuts.

Been hooked ever since.

Favorite Current Blues Player: Petr Cajanek.
Favorite All-Time Blues Player: Red Berenson, Bob Gassoff.

Favorite Active NON Blues Player: Erik Cole.
Favorite All-Time NON Blues Player: Bernie Parent, Bobby Hull, Ken Dryden.

Your Definitive Blues Moment: Seeing Bergevin throw the puck into his own net against Turek during the playoffs. I knew then that, despite a good record and a long playoff streak, the culture of this team had to change if there was ever going to be a dynasty built here, and that the player development system had to be the catalyst for that change.

First Blues Game Attended: First time I saw the Blues play live was when I was living in Denver and the Colorado Rockies hosted the Blues in 1976. I believe Eddie Johnston was in goal for the Blues, ex-Blues' farmhand Michel Plasse was in goal for the Rockeis, and I'm pretty sure that Bob MacMillan scored at least once...

College Attended/Attending: AA from Rock Valley College, Rockford, IL, 2001. Planning to start taking classes towards a Bachelor's Degree at SIU-Edwardsville after Christmas.

Music You Listen To: Classic rock, John Denver, German and Czech composers (Smetana, Wagner, etc).
Favorite Band(s): Pink Floyd, Beatles, Rush.
Favorite Movie(s): The Godfather, Slap Shot, The Dogs Of War, The American President.
Favorite Food: German, Mexican, Chinese.
Favorite TV Show: The New Yankee Workshop, This Old House, WWE Monday Night Raw, any Channel 4 newscast with Donna Savarese...
Hobbies: Extensive (my wife would say "obsessive") study and analysis of minor pro, junior, and European statistics and news as part of my duties as GTPD; German and American history; woodworking.

How and when you became a Blues fan: I was never a hockey fan growing up. My father was a Leafs fan so I was never a Leaf fan (had to be anti-Leafs of course) All of my friends were hockey fans. In 1993 Sega released the greatest hockey videogame ever and if I was going to compete I needed a team. I played the All Stars West for a month and found that Brett Hulls slapshot scored lots of goals. It surprised me when Hull was traded to Dallas that I didn't follow as well.
Favorite Blues Player: current? David Backes(already) All-Time? Brett Hull
Favorite NON Blues Player: active? Iginla Retired? Curtis Joseph
Your Definitive Blues Moment: Doug Gilmour eliminating St. Louis in 94 playoffs with a wraparound from behind the net in (double?) OT (I need a new moment)

I thought for sure that Sneaker Pimps would be on there.

They really only had one good record, and the list is more a reflection of what I've been listening to recently. But yea, Becoming X is still one of my favorite records, but after the band kicked out their female vocalist Kelly Dayton, the rest of their albums just didn't speak to me. 8 years after sacking Dayton and getting nowhere near the success they enjoyed with Dayton, they are now looking for another female vocalist.

How and when you became a Blues Fan: My dad got tickets from his boss to a game that we had to pick up from his house, but we got lost for an hour and couldn't find the house ( before cell phones). We got to the game about the middle of the second period and saw Wayne Gretzky score off of the faceoff over Mike Liut's shoulder with about 1 second on the clock. I'm guessing that was about 1983. Also played football in Affton when the Blues practiced there and used to walk across the parking lot to watch them practice.

Favorite current Blue: Barret Jackman

Favorite all-time Blue: Brendan Shanahan

Favorite non-Blue: Joe Sakic

Favorite all-time non-Blue: Bobby Orr

Definitive Blues' moment- I was at the playoff game against Detroit when Pronger came back after getting hit in the heart in Detroit and the place was absolutely rocking. Was also at the game in '93? on Halloween when Lindros got thrown out of the game for boarding Nelson Emmerson. Vitaly Prokhorov had the hat-trick and I believe so did Hull. Of course watching the Monday Night Miracle on TV.

How and when you became a Blues fan: I started playing hockey at age 6, right after the Miracle On Ice. This was at the start of the NYI dynasty, so my dad & I pulled for them...I was a big fan of Trottier (thus #19, which has always been my hockey #) and Bossy. I think I was about 10 when we came to STL to visit my dad's parents, and we went to a Blues / Hawks game...that started me on the path to Blues fandom.
Favorite current Blues player: Tough call...Stempy, Backes, or McKee
Favorite all-time Blues player: Shayne Corson (j/k)...Shanny or MacInnis
Favorite active non-Blues player: Iginla, Sakic
Favorite all-time non-Blues player: Trottier, Bossy, Gartner, ...
Definitive Blues Moments:
1. The aforementioned first live Blues game...saw about 5-6 crowd fights...Blues beat Hawks 5-1. This was probably 1984ish.
2. Blues defeat Sabres last season in OT. Took my dad to the game...we kept looking at each other, saying..."Could we possibly win this game?"
3. Watching the SJ series during the President's Trophy playoffs...at my in-laws in Michigan, shortly before getting married...trying desperately to avoid screaming obscenities at the TV. I only lost it once, when Turek gave up the 80-footer...and I think I managed to censor myself somewhat.
First Blues Game Attended: Whoops...covered above.
Favorite Non-Blues STL Hockey Memories: Saw the All-Star Game at the old barn in '88...that was sweet. Ditto the Frozen Four last year.
College Attended/Attending: Wash U, BSBA '96. Probably should try to get a Master's someday...but haven't really decided what I want to do with my life yet. And I don't relish the thought of going back to school.
Music You Listen To: I've been thru every genre at least once. Currently on an alt-country kick.
Favorite Band(s): Current: The Jayhawks, Son Volt, Uncle Tupelo, Neko Case, Whiskeytown. All-Time: Grateful Dead, Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Van Halen, David Allen Coe, R.E.M., Beastie Boys, ...I'm all over the map.
Favorite Movie(s): A Few Good Men, Good Will Hunting, Strange Brew, Caddyshack, Slap Shot, The Godfather series, Ocean's 11 & 13...
Favorite Food: It would be easier to list foods I don't like. Ummm...brussels sprouts.
Favorite TV Show: Still bemoaning the loss of The West Wing.
Hobbies: Playing hockey, golf...chasing my two boys (3 years & 6 months)...trying to keep the house from being classified a federal disaster area.
