Sigh ---- somehow it meant more when Morrow won a gold medal and a Stanley cup in the same year.

If by meant more, you mean it was more rare, then yes.

Back then it was more rare. Sort of flukey. Because what Morrow contributed to his gold and Stanley cup teams doesn't even compare what Steve Yzerman contributed to his gold and stanley cup teams. Or what Lidstrom might be able to contribute to his teams this season
