I agree.

Our forward group is decent, but we have no centres.

Our defence will be atrocious, especially if we replace Markov with Alzner/Kulikov. Especially 5v5. And the power play will be missing Beaulieu and Markov.

He's not wrong. Our defence is slow and old. They just lost Radulov, best forward, and they still have no top six centers.

Need to rebuild, blow it all up.

Oh really?

I thought the posters on HFhabs were just being melodramatic and pessimistic?

huh... weird...

Even some MB defenders know that this team has huge holes. Yet they think it will be possible to address them all in one off-season, even though he has yet to figure out the center position for 5, going on 6 off-seasons.

When Bergevin flipped Briere for Parenteau instead of a pick or even a buyout was when the Habs were officially in trouble.

Thanks Pierre. Keep being an analyst and failing for front office positions, as usual.

I don't understand why some of you are disregarding what's he saying just because he's Pierre McGuire. He's right.

Galchenyuk and Gallagher can play RW, Pacioretty and Drouin LW (Drouin also has RW experience if Galchenyuk wants to play LW).

If we use the money we would have given Radulov to sign Thornton it won't matter. Key is getting a center.

We need:
-2 top 6 C
-1 top 6 RW
-2 top 4 LHD

Ya good luck Bergevin.

And no PMD.

This is the thing we've been debating in so many other threads.

Bergevin-proponents are urging to wait and see. Wait til next week. One post suggested to wait for 3 months. They would have a point if there weren't so much to accomplish.

Reality is these kinds of moves require great pro scouting, timing, luck and yes, more than a few weeks.

If Bergevin pulls this off somehow, then he'll get the props that he will have deserved. He did surprise several of us with Drouin. That'll be one tough act to follow.
