The way I see it McDavid did everything he could have possibly done to win the award.

The Hart trophy is dubbed the MVP, but it's got dumb stipulations cooked up by writers.

Like what if Crosby played for a team built by Mike Milbury his whole career? Could you imagine Crosby going his whole career without winning a Hart trophy?

Lots of people mention Super Mario winning the Hart in a year that he didn't make it to the playoffs and led the league by 20 points. That 20 points is pretty meaningless when you look at how many points players were scoring back then.

If the league's best player isn't played in a market that's worth promoting in the eyes of the NHL and the writers and if he doesn't make the playoffs, he flat out has no chance at getting the Hart. McDavid could have won the Heart by 25 points this year and we'd still hear these fanboy writers who are complete nobodies talk about how he didn't do enough.

Can anyone remember when Spector was a faceless loser working as an honest hockey rumor debunker for Foxsports.com?
