Does he not care about building a team around him? Realistically, we are going to be in cap hell. There isn't a whole lot we can do but plug in cheap wingers or college FA's like Pitts and hope they can somehow perform..

The only way to win multiple titles when you have a superstar in a cap league is for that super star to leave money on the table. Crosby did that and the Pens just repeated. Tom Brady has done it repeatedly and has five rings.

I'd love to see McDavid at an aav of $9.7M.

It really is McDavid's choice. I don't get why the rumour isn't that he is asking for the max, which will be $15 million next season. If he's going for all the money then go for it. Leaving a million on the table is just meh.

yeh, at that price point I would ship him out. 7M should be his max..
trade his ass if he commands more. Should net a very good haul considering his last season.

We should be able to get just about any Dman of our choice including Doughty, Parayko and Pieterangelo
