Leafs over Bruins in Game 6
TORONTO — Third-period goals by Dion Phaneuf and Phil Kessel gave the Maple Leafs a 2-1 win over the Bruins in Game 6 of their series Sunday night at Air Canada Centre.

Game 7 is Monday night at 7 at TD Garden. The Bruins once held a 3-1 series lead.

Bruins players talk about a tough night in Toronto
"It's really disappointing," Rask said after the 2-1 loss to the Leafs. "But with a game like that, you can't expect to win. The Leafs have played really good throughout the series, they get rewarded, so that's about it."

Rask was asked if it was frustrating that the offense has been coming up short while he's been playing well.

"Yeah, you'd like them to score five goals every game, but it's just not going to happen. I'm just trying to keep the puck out of my net and hopefully we get the goals."

Bruins unable to fly home after game
The Bruins planned to fly to Boston after the loss, but their flight was canceled because of a mechanical issue with their charter. The Bruins remained in Toronto overnight and planned to fly home Monday morning. The Leafs flew to Boston after the game.

The delay altered the Bruins’ routine significantly. They would have touched down early Monday morning. In all likelihood, they would have scrubbed their morning skate, slept in, and reported to the Garden in the afternoon.

Leafs’ third-period surge forces Game 7
TORONTO — That killer instinct you may have hoped the Bruins had somewhere in them did not surface last night at the Air Canada Centre.

And the scoring touch, which had been so unreliable in the regular season before surfacing earlier in the series, has gone missing again as well.

Bruins play Hyde & meek
TORONTO — For those of you who were looking for a return to 2011, when the Bruins roared through the springtime en route to their first Stanley Cup championship in 39 years, we may have a not-so-pleasant change in plans for you.

As in a return to 2010, when the Bruins blew a 3-0 series lead against the Philadelphia Flyers and were bounced out of the Stanley Cup tournament.

Tuukka Rask hopes for best
TORONTO — Tuukka Rask didn’t even want to talk about what happened to the Bruins in the playoffs three years ago.

The reference of the postgame question at the Air Canada Centre last night was, of course, to the B’s blowing a 3-0 lead in the 2010 Eastern Conference semifinal series, as they dropped four successive games to the Philadelphia Flyers — with Rask & Co. unable to win Game 7 at the Garden despite taking a 3-0 lead in the game

Leafs look like old pros
TORONTO — For a team filled with playoff newcomers, the Toronto Maple Leafs have grabbed the momentum in this series like a squad of veterans.

Led by goaltender James Reimer, making his first appearance in NHL postseason play, the Leafs head into tonight’s seventh and deciding game against the Bruins with a lot of confidence.

Maple Leafs force deciding game
For the captain, the goal was one of redemption, not just for himself but for his Toronto Maple Leafs teammates who have given so much in the franchise’s uplifting return to the Stanley Cup playoffs.

For leading scorer Phil Kessel, it was arguably the biggest goal of his career, a game-winner that nearly brought the Air Canada Centre house down.

Familiar feeling for Bruins' Rask
"I don't even want to talk about that," Rask, his voice taking a slight edge, said on Sunday night. "We have not played good enough to close this series and tomorrow is the final chance."

JVR knows the thrill of winning a Game 7
The 2013 Leafs could be the first team since van Riemsdyk’s Philadelphia Flyers of 2010 to come back from a 3-1 deficit in a best-of-seven series.

The Flyers were actually the full three games behind. The opposition? The Bruins. The goaltender? Tuukka Rask.

Doing away with demons.
TORONTO – It was almost as if all of the demons lurking around the Air Canada Centre were chased from the building in one night.

Magically, organically, the “Thank you Kessel!†chants from Boston morphed into “Thank you Seguin!†at home.
