Per TSN690.. Weber sent back to Montreal with an injured foot he's been playing through so he'll miss the next 3 games. Also Pacioretty moved up to left wing with Drouin replacing Galchenyuk.

Pacioretty has played on average 19 mins per game. Galchenyuk played on average 15 mins a game. Through 33 games, if we do the math...Pacioretty has played close to 7 more games than Galchenyuk total if he averages 19 mins a game. As of today they have the same amount of points and almost the same goals scored.

If Galchenyuk played 19 mins a game like Pacioretty, if we do the math he will have 24 points and would lead this team in scoring.

Does this guy have pictures or some kind of revealing info of management, or is his family a major sponsor for this team. The guy floats, loses pretty well every board battle, plays so soft, lost his battle on Saturday resulting in the 1st Ottawa goal, doesn't score much anymore, basically is a NON FACTOR EACH GAME, AND GETS PROMOTED, what am I missing here!!!!!

Someone will be along to sweep this comment (the one above here) into the "Max Pacioretty" thread. The sooner, the better. Having one "Max Pacioretty is bad enough.

Insanity is defined as trying the same things over and over expecting different results. Poor Clode

Who said that?

Mark Twain?
Albert Einstein?
Ben Franklin?

Invented by MB who also says..........I got the players, you make it work.

I dont get it either. Anyone else would have been benched, scratched, had the C removed, etc. Other guys get called out in the press. Strangely, Pacioretty has avoided this. He's clearly the laziest and most useless forward out there. Millions of fans see it clear as day. Yet no action taken by management? I dont know. Maybe, just maybe, they ARE trying to deal him and dont want him losing any more value? I doubt it, but nothing else makes sense about this. I cant imagine the guy is widely liked anymore in the room either. Lots of players making big efforts out there, and their captain is no where to be found?! What kind of leader is that?

I guess there's no accountability on this team unless your name is Galchenyuk. I'm sure other coaches play favorites but when CJ was hired I was hoping he'd be patient and coach Chucky up. I guess I was naive to think players would be treated a bit more fairly and with less bias than what Therrien did. They're desperate to get Casper going I suppose.

Sticking our defensive specialist with drouin so they can both float for 22 minutes a game.

If you do the math, at this rate Pacioretty will finish the season with 10 goals total. No where close to his 30 goals.

1 goal lucky goal scored by Jonathan Eriksson awarded to Pacioretty in his last 20 games.

82 games - 33 games played = 49 games left. If he averages 1 lucky goal for every 20 games in his next 40 games he should have at least 2 lucky goals scored by players like Jonathan Eriksson in his own net. Pacioretty will go goalless in his final 9 games. So it’s not out of the question that Pacioretty will have 2 more goals the rest of the season. 10 goals total for the season sounds about right.

Where have all his defenders gone?
I spent 3 of 4 years going up against legions of them in this very thread. Every tenedency I pointed out throughout those years have finally come home to roost. None of it had anything at all to do with scoring goals. It was all geared towards what he wasn't doing some 95% of the time out there. All except the one year he spent playing a good chunck of the season with Plek. His best year by far in terms implication. I never won an argument against the guys who focused on the G column.

Irrelevant. What matters is how many goals he had scored in prior seasons. That is how he should be measured and the fact he was voted captain by his teammates. Playoff performance, and some bad luck over 33 games shouldn’t impact his value and he’ll be worth whatever he asks for in his next contract negotiation. His motivational speeches post-game are enough to be held among the great captains in Habs’ history.

Its easy simpler than you think...Marc Bergervin's ego.

-Under Bergervin, Pacioretty was named captain after Gionta left.
-Bergervin chose Pacioretty over Subban so he wants Pacioretty to succeed to show fans he made the right choice even though everyone knows its a horrible choice.
-He wants Drouin to succeed because he traded away Sergachev who probably will be an elite defenseman.
-Bergervin chose not to resign Markov and Radulov because they were leaders, hence giving Pacioretty FULL disclosure of leadership on the team with Weber supporting.
-Bergervin refused to upgrade his defence claiming he believes his defence is better than last year when its not.
-He believes trading of a top centre is impossible when Nashville traded for Johansen and Turris...for Johansen they had to trade Seth Jones. Mikhail Sergachev is pretty close if not the same talent level as Seth Jones and Bergervin got traded Sergachev for a winger and forced Drouin to play centre.
Turris was traded for 2 prospects and a 2nd rounder. The prospects were Vladislav Kamenev and Samuel Girard both were 2nd round picks respectively. In the mean time Bergervin gave up two second round picks for Andrew Shaw.

My logical answer is they are trying to trade him. If they bash him in public or reduce his ice time they send the message he's bad. So they send the message they have faith on him. He's only in a slump and he's ready to bounce back. Being the best goal scorer on the team for the last 6 years is also a fact. Other teams, other coachs acted in the way you suggest in the past. Afterwards it's considered a mistake. Tortorella or Keenan type of coaching are not answer of success today.

Good for the Captain. He got demoted, worked hard, and improved his game. He made the most of his opportunities and in this meritocracy it would be unjust to not promote him.

It’s too bad he already wears the C because his recent heart and leadership deserves a battlefield promotion.

By promoting him they’re sending a horrible message to the team. Yes he’s the captain but he’s playing like shit. He’s not at all implicated and doesn’t care. The players see how he gets preferential treatment and that causes problems in the room. If I’m Galchenyuk I’m wanting to get the hell outta here. I feel bad for whoever patches linemates are. I’d HATE to be on a line with him.

Someone give CJ a heads up...
Max is neither a point guy or a halfwall guy on a PP.
At a bare minimum he needs to get that big frame of his parked 1 foot away from the crease keep the stick free and live there. Otherwise his usefulness on The power-play is non existant. I shudder everytime I see him coming off that halfwall in possesion and run to the kitchen for an Apple turnover. Kovalev he ain't.
