Got a assist today so now he has 2 goals 4 assists 6 points in 7 games. Happy to see him continue to pick up points.

He has played 7 games. There are two coming up this week back to back in Vegas and vs Buffalo at home. Then the final decision must come.

There’s no way he’s going down at this point. They might revisit at the 40 game mark to save a year of unresostricted free agency.

Could be what Bob is thinking. The 1st year of the entry contract has been burned, but sending him back to Juniors before his 40th NHL game will move his UFA age from 26 to 27. Now they have plenty of time to evaluate his play before the 40 game threshold.

Who pissed in your cereal this morning?

Of course no ones going to know, it’s just speculation.

I hope they do, but my guess is that they won't. based on his TOI and the impact he was having on games, I don't see why they would. unless they think a stint with the Canadian team as a conditioning stunt. and I'd rather NHL teams not use Hockey Canada/Tournaments as conditioning stints. pet peeve.

For the future, what kind of player do you see him being? A top 6 LWer with PP1 time? Or do you think he'll be someone that may be stuck on the PP2 for a while?

In all likelihood a 2nd or 3rd liner who can play on both special teams. Maybe some PP1 time it depends on who he’s competing with for time.

He's on a conditioning assignment in San Diego starting tonight - scored a PP goal less than 2.5 minutes into his first AHL game. I, too, am bummed we won't see him for more than a couple of games down here. He is playing with much more maturity than his age, for sure.
